Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output read data of all bar code readers collectively from one bar code reader to a sorting device when the bar code readers are arranged in series along a belt conveyor at a physical distribution center, etc. SOLUTION: The 1st bar code reader 12 and 2nd bar code reader 14 which are arranged in series along the belt conveyor 10 share one article detection sensor 20 and those two bar code readers 12 and 14 operate according to the output signal of the common article detection sensor 20. One arbitrary code code reader between the two bar code readers 12 and 14 operate as a master bar code reader to obtain the read data of the other bar code reader and output the read data of the other bar code reader and its read data to the sorting device in a specific timing.
