Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a DHCP server to cooperate with a DNS server, to effectively use an address resource by the dynamic allocation of IP addresses by a DHCP and to mutually access between terminals by a host name using a DNS. SOLUTION: At the time of receiving an address allocation request from a terminal 1-1, the DHCP server 3 selects and an IP address from a pooled IP address group and allocates the selected IP address and informs the DNS server 4 of correspondene between the allocated IP address and an MAC address through an informing processing part 32. The server 4 sets up correspondence information between the host name of the terminal 1-1 corresponding to the MAC address and the IP address in a DNS table 41 by a setting/updating processing part 42. When the IP address of the terminal 1-1 is inquired from a terminal 1-2, the IP address corresponding to the host name of the terminal 101 is answered from the DNS table 41. |
