Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wet developer containing well dispersed negatively charged toner particles containing a luster pigment. SOLUTION: Copolymerized resin particles made of a copolymerized resin comprising two or more monomeric units and containing a luster pigment are dispersed in an electric insulating dispersion medium to obtain the objective wet developer. The difference Δ (δp1-δd) between the SP value δp1 of a homopolymer comprising only the 1st monomeric units of the copolymerized resin and the SP value δd of the dispersion medium is >=1.0, the difference Δ(δp2-δd) between the SP value δp2 of a homopolymer comprising only the 2nd monomeric units of the copolymerized resin and the SP value δd of the dispersion medium is <=1.0 and the difference Δ (δp1-δp2) between the SP values δp1 and δp2 is >=0.5. Each of the copolymerized resin particles consists of a core part which is insoluble in the dispersion medium and a peripheral part which is enveloping the core part and is soluble in or can be swollen with the dispersion medium. The copolymerized resin particles further contain lecithin and a metal sulfonate as electric charge controlling agents. |
