Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for operating an absorption cold/hot water machine which prevents an absorption solution from forming crystals that impedes circulation of the absorption solution and reduces absorption of refrigerant, and which heats and dissolves the formed crystals. SOLUTION: An apparatus comprises a low-temperature solution heat exchanger Lex for a concentrated solution at an upstream of an absorber 1 and a dilute solution at a downstream of the absorber in a regenerator HGe and the absorber 1. Further, there are provided a first heater 4 for heating the concentrated solution that has passed through the heat exchanger Lex, and a first temperature detecting means 5 for detecting the temperature of the concentrated solution which flows through the first heater 4. A first temperature controlling device 6 for controlling the temperature of the concentrated solution on the basis of its detection value is connected to the means 5. A second heater 11 for heating the dilute solution which is discharged from the absorber is provided between the absorber 1 and the heat exchanger Lex. A second temperature detecting means 12 for detecting the temperature of the dilute solution which flows through the second heater 11 is also provided. A second temperature controlling device 13 is connected to the means 12. Refrigerant is introduced into the system at every given operation period or at the time of switching cold/hot operation mode in parallel with raising temperature of cooling water of the absorber and operating individual heaters 4, 11, thus controlling the temperature of the absorption solution.
