Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, having an improved overdischarge characteristic and capable of operating at 1.5 V. SOLUTION: This nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a positive electrode 2 having a positive mix including Li4/3Ti5/3O4 as active material, a negative electrode 5 having a negative mix including a carbonaceous material doped with lithium in advance, and a nonaqueous electrolyte, the electric capacity ratio (positive mix/negative mix) of the positive mix to the negative mix is set at 1.05 to 1.20, and the operating potential of the positive mix is set at 1.0 V or more on the basis of the standard single electrode potential of lithium.
