PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning water solution for aluminum based metal and a cleaning method small in the deterioration of cleaning property due to the accumulation of a lubricant or the decomposition of a surfactant even in long term cleaning operation and reduced in the generation of environmental problem even in the case of the outside disposal. SOLUTION: The cleaning water solution for aluminum based metal contains an inorganic acid in the quantity to make pH <=2, 0.05-4 g/L oxidizing metallic ion and 0.05-10 g/L surfacetant expressed by the formula: R-O-(EO)nH (R represents a 10-18C alkyl group in the average of one mmlucule; (n) represents integers of >=8; EO represents ethylene oxide group, which may contain a small quantity of propylene oxide). R in the surfactant contains carbons of 12-18 in the average of one molecule and has the molecular weight of >=600.
