Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To intensify the induction swirl by retarding the flow velocity of the back facing intake part among the intake gas flowing into a cylinder chamber from the front inlet port and lessening the energy to run against the intake gas inflowing from the rear inlet port. SOLUTION: In a downstream port portion 6 of a front inlet port 2, at least the upper half of the downstream port terminating part 16 at the end of rounding relative to the downstream port beginning part 15 at the start of rounding is formed out of communication by interposing a partitioning thick wall part 17. The thick wall part 17 is located ahead of the downstream port portion 10 of the rear inlet port 3.
