Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of beautifully polishing hard surfaces by adding a chelating agent and/or a surfactant and/or a dispersant comprising a water-soluble high mol.wt. polycarboxylate to the composition. SOLUTION: This cleaner composition contains sodium carbonate, sodium chloride, sodium bicarbonate, sodium sulfate and/or a sugar as a carrier and further (A) a water-soluble polycarboxylate as a dispersant and/or (B) a chelating agent and/or (C) a surfactant as powder or an aqueous composition. Compositions containing only sodium bicarbonate and/or polyasparaginic acid and/or their salts are excluded. The component A preferably comprises an acrylic acid homopolymer or copolymer or polyasparaginic acid and/or its salt, or their mixture. The contents of the carrier and the component A are preferably 20-95 wt.% and 5-15 wt.%, respectively.
