Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure uniform heating of an object to be heated while contributing to energy saving by providing at least one set of high speed combustion heat storage combustion burners performing alternating combustion and delivering combustion air at a specified current velocity. SOLUTION: Each combustion zone is arranged, along the circumferential direction of the side wall of a rotary bed heating furnace, with a plurality of pairs of heat storage combustion burners performing alternating combustion. For example, combustion air supplied to a pair of two stage combustion type heat storage combustion burners 12a is heated with thermal energy stored in a heat storage body 13a of the burner 12a at the time of passing through the heat storage body 13a and ejected into a furnace through a burner throat 19 together with primary fuel being supplied to a primary fuel nozzle 18. Secondary fuel is then supplied into the furnace from a secondary fuel nozzle 20 arranged around the burner throat 19. Current velocity of combustion gas must be 60 m/see or above at the burner throat in order to entrain combustion exhaust gas.
