Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a detergent compsn. which has a good cleaning action, a high water solubility, and little danger to user health by incorporating sodium hydrogencarbonate as the base material and polyaspartic acid and/or a salt thereof as a dispersant into the same. SOLUTION: This compsn., for cleaning metallic and nonmetallic surfaces, contains 20-95 wt.%, esp. 50-95 wt.%, sodium hydrogencarbonate of which 10-70 wt.% is accounted for by particles having particle sizes of 50-300 μm, 5-12 wt.% polyaspartic acid and/or its salt as a dispersant, and if necessary, 10 wt.% or lower auxiliaries and additives, such as a dye and a preservative, As for polyaspartic acid, not only the homopolymer but also polysuccinimide, i.e., a water-soluble copolymer or an anhydride, can be used. A sodium salt and an ammonium salt are pref. as polyaspartic acid salt. A dry jet method or a water jet method is used for cleaning.
