Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a safe brake device for a vehicle which uses a control valve mechanism to carry out the connecting and the cutting-off operation of a hydraulic clutch under a specific pressure, can utilize to a braking operation and an accelerating operation by recovering the kinetic energy as a hydraulic pressure in the decelerating time of a vehicle, and generates no trouble to the braking operation and the like by the hydraulic pressure failure and the like. SOLUTION: A hydraulic clutch 24 to carry out the connection and the cutting-off of the hydraulic pump motor 9 of a braking energy regenerating unit 3 and a wheel shaft 21, is made in a structure in which an engaging plate 27 is displaced to a nonengaging position to be made to the clutch-off condition by a hydraulic pressure, when a hydraulic pressure more than the first specific value is fed to a control chamber 31. A clutch control valve mechanism 40 to switch and control the hydraulic pressure fed to the control chamber 31 is provided, so that such a halfway hydraulic pressure that the engaging plate 27 of the hydraulic clutch 24 stays at the middle part between the engaging position and the nonengaging position, is not fed to the control chamber 31.
