Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress distortion in image at both corners of upper or lower part of a display screen. SOLUTION: A sawtooth voltage generating circuit 33 generates a sawtooth voltage Vosc for vertical scan. A limiter 34 limits the sawtooth voltage Vosc with a first fixed voltage E1 corresponding to the outline of the upper end of the screen and a second fixed voltage E2, which is lower than the fixed voltage E1, corresponding to the outline of the lower end of the screen. A limiter 35 limits the sawtooth wave Vosc with a third fixed voltage E3 higher than the fixed voltage E1 and a fourth fixed voltage E4 lower than the second fixed voltage E2. Based on an output voltage S35 of the limiter 35, a parabolic voltage generating circuit 37 generates a parabolic voltage E/W for left/light pincushion distortion correction. The cathode-ray tube of a wide TV performs vertical scan based on the output voltage S34 of the limiter 34 and performs left/light pincushion distortion correction based on the parabolic voltage E/W. |
