Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably and inexpensively provide an optical retroreflective material which is soft in feeling, is light in weight, and has various colors. SOLUTION: This optical retroreflective material is constituted by embedding and holding 40 to 90% of the diameter of transparent microballs 1 into a binding resin layer 3, exposing their heads into the air, providing the rear surfaces of the transparent microballs 1 in the embedment parts of the binding resin layer 3 with reflection layers 2 and holding the binding resin layer 3 on fiber cloth 4. The transparent microballs 1 described above are made of a synthetic resin. The surface of the fiber cloth is provided with an adhesive layer contg. a light reflective material and the transparent microballs made of the synthetic resin are held by embedding 40 to 90% thereof into the adhesive layer.
