Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of data while keeping the adjacent relation of plural components in the case of approximating shape data. SOLUTION: Concerning this approximating method, the shape data are read, the adjacent parts of the shape data are designated, the virtual plane and virtual edge to these designated adjacent parts are prepared and the respective edges of the shape data are evaluated. This evaluation is performed based on the amount to change the shape of adjacent parts on the assumption that the virtual edge is removed. Afterwards, the data of edges are sorted and the shape data approximated by removing the edges preferentially from the edge of low evaluation value are outputted. |
