Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle door lock operating device that can open a vehicle door even in the case of an unlatching motor being put out of action due to a failure. SOLUTION: An exclusive auxiliary battery 8 independent of a main battery is provided near or integrally with a door lock body of a door lock 5 for a vehicle. Even in the case of an unlatching motor being put out of action due to the stop of feeding from the main battery to the unlatching motor caused by a failure such as battery exhaustion, the unlatching motor is driven by the auxiliary battery 8 as a backup to move the door lock body to open a vehicle door 1. An inner panel in a place corresponding to a storage part 43 in a door lock case 20 is provided with a cover member 45 such as a closable cover so as to easily perform maintenance of the auxiliary battery 8 without removing an interior panel of the vehicle door 1.
