Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain long distance transmission of a digital signal by placing two transmission sections that send/receive a signal to both ends of a transmission line and converting the signal into an optical signal and converting the optical signal into the electric signal and transmitting the converted signal from the two transmission sections to the transmission line. SOLUTION: This device has a transmission line and two transmission section 1, 3 that connect to both ends of the transmission line to transmit/receive a signal, a video signal and an audio signal or the like received by the transmission section 1, 3 are time division multiplexed and time base compressed as digital signals and the compressed signal is transmitted as the signal. The device has the transmission line consisting of coaxial cables 2-1, 2-2 through which an electric signal is transmitted, repeater 4-1, 4-2 that convert the electric signal into the optical signal and convert the optical signal into the electric signal, and an optical fiber cable 5 through which the optical signal is transmitted. Then the signal is converted from the electric signal into the optical signal and form the optical signal into the electric signal, then transmitted from the transmission sections 1, 3 to the transmission line. |
