Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air cell having small inner electrical resistance, large discharge capacity and superior liquid leakage proof performance. SOLUTION: A positive electrode case 12 having an air hole 11 is sequentially piled with an air diffusion material 13 which causes air to diffuse, a porous PTFE film 14, an air electrode 15, a separator 16 made of a microhole polypropylene film and an electrolyte holding member 17 made of natural pulp wood. A negative electrode mixture 18 is put into a negative electrode cup 19, and it is contained in the positive electrode case 12 via a gasket 20, then caulked and fixed. After that, the air hole 11 is sealed with an air hole seal 21 to form the button-type air cell 1. Here, a metal ring 22 having a U-shaped section is provided around the air electrode 15, to secure sufficient contact between the metal ring 22 and a current-collector of the air electrode 15 and between the positive electrode case 12 and the metal ring 22.
