Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underground water storage facility capable of accomplishing catchment without providing a catchment facility such as a conventional sideditch and also supplying a great quantity of water at the time of a large-scale disaster. SOLUTION: Under the ground of a flat certain area 1 is divided into a plurality of small sections 2 by an underground weir 10 including a first communication pipe 11, a water storage tank 4 is formed by filling the underground within the divided small sections 2 with storage/infiltrating type hollow blocks 12, and a manhole 3 is provided by having water storage tank 4 communicating with at least one small section among the small sections 2 encircled by the weir 10 through a second communicating pipe 13 which is provided with a siphon type opening and closing controller for maintaining the water level difference between the adjoining small sections constant.
