Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing medium and a printing apparatus which can print with high quality by feeding characteristics of the printing medium and necessary setting conditions for an optimum printing to the printing medium on every sheet from the printing medium to the printing apparatus side. SOLUTION: A paper is a high quality paper of a single sheet. Bar codes 2a, 2b, 2c and 2d recording printing conditions are printed on positions close to each cut face of four corners on the back of the paper 1. the bar codes 2a, 2b, 2c and 2d are read by means of a bar code reader being not illustrated in a fugure when the paper 1 is fed into a printing apparatus being not illustrated in the figure. The printing apparatus is e.g., an ink-jet printer.
