PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to appropriately perform remote control with an image pickup device from another equipment by providing a means or the like for transmitting control data stored in a storage means to the image pickup device when it is detected that device is connected to the image pickup device. SOLUTION: When it is detected that this device is connected to an image pickup device, it is equipped with a means or the like for transmitting control data stored in a storage means to the image pickup device. For example, a camera system control part is communicably constituted by way of a personal computer 103 outside a video camera 2600, a 1394 cable C and a 1394 I/F part 2627. By this communication function, in accordance with a camera control instruction from a personal computer 103, a signal is outputted from a CPU 2626 so as to change output levels of a diaphragm control reference signal generation circuit 2615, an R-Y level control reference signal generation circuit 2616 and a B-Y level control reference signal generation circuit 2617. Reference values of these output levels are stored in a standard control data storage area 2621 of an RAM 2629.
