Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic disk device capable of holding an actuator so as to prevent its rotation in a loading direction even when the actuator rotated in the direction of a circular-arc arrow UL and located in an unloading position receives a rotating force by inertia. SOLUTION: An engaging part 17 is formed in a member (coil holder 16) fixed to an actuator 4, and a member (ratchet pawl 30) engaged with the engaging part is provided. When the actuator is rotated in the direction of a circular- arc arrow UL and placed in an unloading position (the position shown in the drawing), the ratchet pawl 30 is automatically engaged with the engaging part 17 to lock the rotation of the actuator 4 in the loading direction (shown as an arrow L). When the actuator 4 is rotated slightly further in the arrow direction UL from the position in the drawing, by the operation of a rotary housing 31, the locking of the ratchet pawl 30 is released. |
