SOLUTION: As operation control part in a disk recorder 202 detects the operation of a reservation recording start button, etc., provided on a remote controller 204 or the disk recorder 202, and performs reservation recording processing. A disk control part in the disk recorder 202 reads out the data in a disk, and a time control part calculates disk free capacity. The time control part in the disk recorder 202 calculates a disk recordable time based on a disk residual amount and a maximum value, a mean value or a minimum value of a variable rate, and a display control part outputs it to a monitor TV 200, etc., and the disk-recordable time is displayed.
