Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the damage to an optical card and a carriage roller. SOLUTION: A case body 31 having an opening 31a through which an optical card C is allowed to pass is provided inside with a carriage roller 33 having a circular-arc part 33a and a flat part 33b for carrying the optical card C, light shielding plate 39 having a notched part 39a rotating integrally with the carriage roller 33, sensor 40 for the roller for detecting the rotating position of the carriage roller 33 in cooperation with the light shielding plate 39, and a sensor 41 for the card positioned at the opposite side to the opening 31a with the carriage roller 33 interposed between them for detecting the optical card C. When the sensor 40 for the roller detects the notched part 39a, the carriage roller 33 and the light shielding plate 39 are connected so that the flat part of the carriage roller 33 can face the optical card C. When a power source is turned on, an MPU operates a drive motor 36 for facing the flat part 33b of the carriage roller 33 to the optical card C, and for rotating the carriage roller 33 when the sensor 41 for the card detects the optical card C.
