Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a reducing catalyst consisting of a chromium oxide having improved catalyst activity, and to provide a process for producing the same. SOLUTION: (1) This reducing catalyst consists of a chromium oxide crystal of <=2 nm in the thickness of the amorphous layers existing on the surfaces of primary particles or its molding and (2) the heating up time from 200 deg.C up to a heat treatment temp. is regulated to <=2 hours at the time of heat treating chromium hydroxide or its molding at >=400 deg.C. |
