Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auger type ice maker in which ice making water having high scale concentration can be drained quickly and surely. SOLUTION: Water supply is stopped by closing the water supply valve 33 of an ice making water tank 31 for auger type ice maker. Ice making water in a refrigeration cylinder 11 is drained by opening a drip valve 39 under that state. Consequently, ice making water having high scale concentration is drained through a drainage pipe 37. After draining ice making water, the water supply valve 33 is opened again for a predetermined time while opening the drip valve 39. Thereafter, the drip valve 39 is closed and normal ice making operation is reset. Consequently, ice making water having high scale concentration can be drained surely and then the drainage pipe 37 can be cleaned with fresh cleaning water.
