Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record an image of higher quality without deteriorating a recording speed. SOLUTION: A plurality (number of dots of 1 line) of ejection electrodes 14a1, 14a2,..., 14an are stood at a specified pitch P in the direction traversing a carrying path on the ink channel channel in the head of an ink jet recorder. Insulating barrier walls 13a1, 13a2,..., 13an are stood, respectively, between adjacent ejection electrodes along the direction of ink flow. Each insulating barrier wall 13a1, 13a2,..., 13an is raised gradually from the bottom face of the ink channel as it approaches the ejection electrode 14a1, 14a2,...14an.
