Summary:A mobile sheet roof system for greenhouses comprises one or preferably two sheets which can be wound and unwound on their own mandrels. The two mandrels are preferably mounted along the ridge of the roof and are operated through a transmission which incorporates a main transmission shaft parallel to the mandrels. A plurality of moving cable arms control the free edge of the sheet and are operated by ties which wind and unwind on tapering drums keyed to the main transmission shaft. The system is easy to motorise and automate, and the sheet is always kept under tension.
