Summary:In laying planks (34) which, to alter the working width of the road finisher, are composed by a laying plank (36) and two displacement planks (37) linked displaceably at opposite ends of the main plank, it is known to mount each displacement plank (37) on the main plank (36) by means of two telescopic guides (47). The stability of this known mounting has proved to be inadequate. As a result, the quality of the road surface to be finished suffers. In accordance with a first embodiment of the invention, the main plank (36) is provided with an intermediate slide (38) to receive in each case one displacement plank (37). As a result of the intermediate slide (38), the guide lengths are shortened in that the overall guide length is divided between the displacement plank (37) and the intermediate slide (38). This results in the desired more stable mounting of the displacement plank (37) on the main plank (36) and thus in an improvement in the quality of the road surface to be produced. In accordance with a second embodiment of the invention, an inner plate of the or each displacement plank lies in the region of the main plank and is mounted on the main plank by means of three guides. In accordance with a third embodiment of the invention, one guide is arranged in a central region of the or each displacement plank.
