Summary:Automatic apparatus for the production of windows on a continuous web of paper or the like and for closing the said windows with pieces of transparent film or film carrying labels and the like, the apparatus comprising means for passing the said web through a cutting unit, then through a gluing unit and lastly through an assembly unit, the said cutting and gluing units being movable longitudinally with respect to the web, and the said apparatus comprising means for intermittently stopping the said web for predetermined periods of time depending on the distance required between the said windows, the said web stopping means and the means for moving the gluing and cutting units being controlled by a suitably programmed electronic computer.
