Summary:The invention relates to a method for controlling the drive train system of a motor vehicle in a starting mode. If step 12 determined that the neutral gear was engaged in the transmission device, step 14 verifies whether the motor speed is greater than a predetermined limit and whether the accelerator pedal of the motor vehicle is actuated. If this is the case, a </= jump start >/= flag is set in step 16, indicating that a jump start should be carried out. If this is not the case, the </= jump start >/= flag is cancelled in step 20 and the method ends with step 18. If the </= jump start >/= flag has not been set, step 24 leads to a </= normal >/= start of the motor vehicle or creep. If however in step 22 it is determined that the </= jump start >/= flag has been set, step 26 verifies whether a function has been impaired during the detection of a signal that indicates the position of the selector lever, (selector lever signal). If no function impairment of this type during the detection of the selector lever signal is determined, a jump start of the motor vehicle is carried out in step 28.
