Summary:A contact protection and alarm system is butt into the external trim of a road vehicle. The sensing system is produced as a )coachline trim and is of a flexible, formed tube (1). This has a 'T' shaped section (5) that fits into a recess (3) formed in the vehicle body panel. Within the tube are a pair of strip contact elements (2). Any contact with the sensor causes the contacts to engage and an alarm is triggered.
