Summary:The present invention concerns a mechanism to select the so-called jacquard print with purl stitch in a circular knitting machine with double cylinder, in particular to manufacture socks. Said machine is provided with a cam system to control cursors, intermediate cursors and needle guides. A cam moving radially to transfer needles into the superior cylinder is set along the itinerary to select the intermediate needles before needles reach the position from which they are transferred to the superior cylinder. Intermediate cursors are provided with two rear-sides set sequentially at different heights to realise the jacquard print with purl stitch.
