Summary:The positioning is achieved by utilisation of an insertion member (2) and a gripping member for fitting bags onto the spouts of a filling plant. The insertion member consists of two parts (5,6) pointed at one end. One part (5) pivotally connects to a bearing (7) at the rear end. The two parts each take the form of halved cylindrical shells. The mobile insertion portion is moved by an hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder (8), mounted between the two insertion parts, in a horizontal direction. It is also moved vertically by a cylinder (10). Bundles of bags (11) are fed to the bag fitting machine by a transporter (12), the insertion member is inserted into the valve opening while the mouth is gripped, the insertion member is withdrawn, and the filling spout is inserted.
