Summary:The invention provides an electrical device (10) such as a relay which is to be mounted in the engine space of a motor vehicle and has electrical parts (10,11,12,13,14) disposed on a base plate (15) of insulated material and surrounded by a protective cap (18) which is secured to the edges of the base plate and sealed by a sealing compound (23) applied to the inside of the base plate to cover the joint between the base plate (15) and the protective cap (18). The compound may also fill the gaps between the connection parts (14) and the base plate (15). The protective cap (18) is provided with an integrally formed tube (25) for the introduction of the sealing compound, in the form of a two part resin, and which tube is closed by a cap (26) after sealing.
