Summary:The probe head is used in a voltage tester. The probe electrode (5) is mechanically fixed by a pressed collar (6) to a carrier rod (7). The rod is hollow and made of glass-fibre reinforced polyester. Its surface is coated with a conducting layer of polyester lacquer (8). Electrical contact between the electrode and the rod surface is achieved by a pressure distributing layer of electrically conducting plastic sheet (9) on the inside of the collar. The opposite rod end (12) is bolted to the housing (2) using a second pressed collar (10). A plastic insulating shrink-on tube (3) is held in the housing by two O-rings (4) and the space between it and the rod is filled with casting resin (16). The rod is fixed to the tube by cross-pins (15).
