The invention relates to a device (10) for connecting a reservoir (11) to a fluid pathway (5) in a medicament delivery apparatus (1). The device (10) comprises a main body (3) having a service area (6) configured to house a needle (7) in fluid communication with the fluid pathway (5). In the main body (3) is housed a reservoir (11) filled with a medicament to be delivered in the fluid pathway (5) through the needle (7) after the latter has pierced an end surface of the reservoir (11). A plunger (15) is movable within the reservoir (11) along an axial direction (A) parallel to a longitudinal axis (X) of the reservoir (11) and a piston (20) is movable along said axial direction (A). The device (10) comprises a trigger mechanism configured to drive the device (10) to move from an initial operative configuration at which the axial movement of the piston (20) causes an axial movement of the reservoir (11) with respect to the main body (3) to a final operative configuration at which the axial movement of the piston (20) causes an axial movement of the plunger (15) within the reservoir (11).
