Summary:An underground parking silo is rectangular on plan and of any required practicable depth. The structural unit is one car space long and wide enough to accommodate two cars with space between for a platform hoist (9), hydraulic or chain driven by a motor (12). The hoist has a turntable (8, 10) carrying a car pallet (1) with handrail (20). A hydraulic ram mechanism (4, 5) slides the loaded pallet to engage and be supported on a pair of support tubes or beams (13) in the structure wall. For retrieval, the rising hoist lifts the roof (14) on columns (16).
