Summary:This request for patent concerns a mechanical hooking and electrical connection device for a linear tubular fluorescent lamp.A necessary introduction, with the aim of clarifying the description, concerns the term, linear tubular fluorescent lamp, which has been abbreviated by the use of the word lamp. Every time the word lamp is mentioned in the description of the invention, it must be understood that this refers exclusively and only to a linear tubular fluorescent lamp. The device is made up of a support, which contains several electrical components for the power supply of the linear tubular fluorescent lamp, to which one or more arms are telescopically joined to the ends of the lamp projecting from said container. The arms are rotatable and eccentrically joined along a perpendicular plane with the lamp carrying mechanism, for the mechanical and electrical connection to the pin ends of said linear tubular fluorescent lamp. The device includes a mechanism, which operates on the pin ends of the lamp and allows for longitudinal movement of the lamp along its length, for the coupling to, or removal of its pin ends from the lamp carrying mechanism. It can be used in a variety of lighting equipment, since it has been designed with a connection that is adapted to the needs of the particular type of lighting equipment. This particular mechanism is intended for use in lighting equipment in which the longitudinal movement necessary for the substitution of the lamp, may become a determining factor due to limited space around the lighting fixture itself.
