Summary:The car dashboard lighter has a removable button with an end cap (5) at its inner end receiving a resistance heating spiral (6) and fitting into a socket contg. a double hooked spring. This cooperates with the end cap (5) to hold the heating spiral (6) in the heating position. The electrical and mechanical coupling between the inside of the end cap (5) and the outer coil of the heating spiral (6) is obtd. via an interposed metal ring (12). An insulating ring (11) is positioned between the heating spiral (6) and the base of the end cap (5). The metal ring (12) has an outer dia. corresp. to the inner dia. of the end cap (5) and the insulating ring (11) has a dia. causing it to be pressed into contact with an annular zone of the end cap (5) giving it the correct shape for cooperation with the double hooked spring in the lighter socket.
