PURPOSE:To delay the aging of human body, by taking poultry eggs having high iodine content as daily food. CONSTITUTION:An iodine compound and/or marine algae are added to the feed of poultry to an extent to exceed the normal iodine requirement of the poultry, and egg-laying poultry is fed with the feed to obtain eggs containing >=300mug of iodine. The iodine compound is preferably calcium iodate in view of the health of the poultry and the transferability of iodine to the egg. The amount of iodine in the feed is adjusted to 50-2,500ppm, especially 50-150ppm. When an iodine compound is used in combination with marine algae, preferably 40-100ppm and 10-50ppm of the iodine are originated from the iodine compound and the marine algae, respectively. Daily use of the egg as a food prevents the hypothyroidism and arteriosclerosis, and reduces the contents of cholesterol and lipid peroxide in the brain.
