Summary:The conductor rail (1) consists of a hollow metal profile formed by a strip (4) folded on both sides of a tracking face (2) to form two parallel ribs (5) each enveloped by the corresponding free edge (6) of a substantially U-shaped plastics insulating profile section (3). The wall region (7) of the metal section (1) outside the folded ribs (5), and this wall region (7) alone, is thickened by means of a second metal strip (8) united to the first metal strip (4) by cold rolling, so that the cross- sectional area of the metal (1) is increased without departing from the specified rail breadth or narrowing the tracking face (2) down. The metal strips (4, 8) preferably have the same thickness, and consist of steel and/or copper.
