Summary:The invention relates to a treated HPPE yarn characterized in that the treated HPPE yarn comprises: elemental metal; the elemental metal forms a layer that adheres to the surface of the HPPE yarn and covers at least partly the surface of the HPPE yarn, wherein the elemental metal is deposited to the outer surface of a HPPE yarn via sputtering, preferably plasma sputtering.
