Summary:The invention relates to a transdermal therapeutic system for the administration of physostigmine onto the skin, composed of a backing layer which is impermeable to the active ingredient, of an active ingredient depot having at least one auxiliary with supportive and distributive function in the form of a sheet-like textile material, of a matrix surrounding the latter on all sides and, where appropriate, of a protective layer which can be detached again, the matrix of which contains 10 - 90 % by weight of polymeric material selected from the group consisting of acrylate- and/or methacrylate-based polymers and esters of hydrogenated rosin, 0 - 30 % by weight of plasticisers based on hydrocarbons and/or esters, and the active ingredient depot contains 15 to 85 % by weight of a 0.1 to 70 % by weight physostigmine solution immediately after manufacture.
