(III) reacts with hydroxyl-amine-sulphate or hydroxylamine-hydrochloride to yield 5-methyl-iso-oxazole-3-carboxylic-acid-methyl-ester of formula (IV), (IV) reacts with ammonia by known means without being isolated or purified.
