Summary:Novel phenyl-(biphenyl-4-yl)-methane derivs. and acid adduct salts of formula (I) where R is 1-4C alkyl-, 1-4C hydroxy-alkyl-, nitro-, 2-5C alkoxy-carbonyl-, or imidazole-1-yl, pyrazole-1-yl or 1,2,4-tri:azole-1-yl gps. substd. with one or two di:(1-4C alkyl)-amino-carbonyl gps. are prepd. from phenyl-(bi:phenyl-4-yl)-di :halogen-methane where halogen chlorine or bromine atom and from a cpd. of formula R-H (R as before) in the presence in this case of an acid scavenger. Opt. salts of (I) are obtd. These cpds. have fungicidal action in pharmaceutical prepn.
