Summary:An installation comprises, inside a sealed cylindrical chamber with orifices cut in its lateral walls to conform with the number of plasmatrons, an ingot carrier which is linked mechanically to a main drive for alternating rectilinear displacement destined to effect the mutual displacement of the ingot and the plasmatron. The individual plasmatron carriers are engaged through the corresponding orifices and are arranged above the ingot carrier. In operation the plasmatrons are adjustable with respect to angle and can be given an oscillatory movement.
