Summary:The prods. of formula R-O-CO-NR1R2 (I) are prepd. by reacting cpds. of formula R-OH (II) contg. an alcoholic or phenolic hydroxyl gp. with phosgene in the presence of a catalyst in an aromatic medium contg. chloroformate and removing phosgene and hydrochloric acid from the resulting reaction mixt. by treatment with an alkyl amine of formula NHR1R2 (III) in aq. soln. - In the formulae, R1 and R2 are independently H, opt. branched 1-5C alkyl or opt. branched 1-5C alkenyl. R is phenyl, naphthyl or dihydro-benzo-furanyl carrying 1-3C alkyl gps. substd. with halogen with opt. branched 1-5C alkyl, with 1-5C alkoxy with 1-5C alkylthio, with 1-5C alkylimino with dialkylamino having 1-5C in each alkyl, or with one or more dioxolane gps.
