Summary: | Mitomycin A derivatives II and III which are mitomycin A analogs in which the 7-alkoxy group bears an organic substituent incorporating a disulfide group, are prepared by reacting demethyl mitomycin A or a derivative thereof with an appropriate triazene Ar - N = N - NH - alk2 - S - S - alk1 - R or Ar - N = N - NH - alk2 - S - S - R Mitomycin A is an antibiotic of established utility, and the 7-0-substituted mitosane analogs thereof have similar utility. The mitomycin A derivatives have the formula:- (Ar, alk1, alk2, R , R and R are various defined groups). The above process may also be used for the production of mitomycin A and derivatives thereof not containing the disulphide group. |
