Summary:The invention relates to enteric-coated tablets containing pantoprazole as active ingredient and a process for the preparation thereof. The tablets according to the invention comprise a.) a core consisting of 20-50% by weight (related to the weight of the tablet core) of the active ingredient, spray-dried or granulated mannitol having an average particle size between 100 µm and 500 µm, an alkalizing agent, a disintegrant and a lubricant conventionally applied in the pharmaceutical industry; b.) a water-soluble separating film coating; c.) an enterosolvent film coating insoluble in gastric juices; and d.) an optional water-soluble protecting film coating, and show increased stability during storage.
