Summary:The pH of an aqueous solution of the thalidomide derivative EM 12 (I) for parenteral administration is maintained at less th or equal to 5.5. Stable aqueous solution according to DE19743968.3 contains EM 12 of formula (I) for parenteral administration where (I) is isotonic glucose solution and the pH of the solution is less than or equal to 5.5. An Independent claim is also included for the preparation of the aqueous solution as above comprising: (a) adding (I) to an isotonic glucose solution having a pH of 4-5; (b) shaking the mixture till (I) has gone completely into solution, and/or to reduce the preparation time, subjecting to ultrasound treatment; and (c) filtering under aseptic conditions.
